Our Process

buy-nowWe use an aerated window process.  Feedstocks are placed into pyramid shaped rows that are approximately 16’ wide, 6’ high and 600’ long.  The feedstocks are mechanically mixed, monitored for temperatures, screened of garbage and rocks, and tested at a certified laboratory for nutrient content.  The composting process takes about 120 days.  The first 60 days are called the mesophilic and thermophilic phases.  These phases include high temperatures usually between 140 F – 160 F.

During this phase each row is turned twice a week and monitored for temperature.  It is imperative during this phase that we meet PFRP (Process to Further Reduce Pathogens).  PFRP means that you maintain a temperature of 131 F for fifteen consecutive days.  This will kill weed seed and pathogens.  The next 60 days are called the curing process.  Temperature decreases and compost is turned once a week.  Moisture levels also drop to about 30 percent.  Once the compost is cured and stable it is ready to be processed.

Our Compost supplier is a graduate of the Washington Organic Recycling Council (WORC).For any questions please feel free to contact us.

The Challenge

meet-the-farmer2Agricultural feeding operations are dealing with mounting piles of manure from 100 million cows that produce approx 10 billion pounds of raw product daily. Using eco-friendly composting methods we, all of us, can reuse one of the most treasured byproducts of the Ag industries: Organic fertilizer/compost. The all natural product lends itself to greater soil health, healthier plants, healthier food products, and better water holding capacities for the soil. It can also help reduce the need for man made synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. We know that the world has a lot of problems and we aren’t going to solve them all. But today, right now, we have the ability to make a better choice when it comes to foods we eat and the ground our children play on.

The Vision

Our company Natural Nutrient Solutions has established the methodology and technology to transform this endless supply of manure into a more viable and useable product. We are proud to be leading the way to addressing the problem that the livestock and dairy producers are facing. (Insert pic of 3 lb bag here.)

The Product

handOur product comes from natural ‘cowpies’ composted and then we shape it into ‘peas’.  You got it!  These little, organic granulates are our POOpeas.  POOpeas is a granulated earth friendly organic based fertilizer that is repurposed from livestock / dairy waste. This product is suitable for use on gardens, vegetables, herbs, flowers, trees, shrubs, roses, houseplants and  agricultural crops.

Our product is odorless, safe to handle by your hands, it is even safe for a child to play around and it is most certainly safe for pets and our environment.

The Environment

So, did someone say safe organic fertilizer?  Did someone say sustainability?  Well, we did!  We are helping stop some of the toxins that run off into our rivers and waterways.  We don’t like risking our family or pets’ health and lastly who wants to eat those chemicals?  Not us!  Our mission is to raise awareness for healthier living throughout the country by providing a safe alternative for all of us including our Mother Earth and even those cows that feed off it.  Not only do we strive to help build more sustainable gardens, farms but a healthier food chain overall so that we can all live healthier lives on this beautiful planet of ours.
